LAKE BLAINE
Situated near the Canadian border and perched on the edge of a serene lake, this residence establishes a profound connection with its surroundings, offering breathtaking lakefront views and seamlessly integrating into the natural topography. Featuring a simple low-slope shed roof, the house maintains a discreet and protected presence when facing the street. However, as the terrain descends with a 16-foot drop to the lake, the dwelling opens up to embrace the water and uninterrupted panoramic views.
The residence's long and narrow footprint is thoughtfully organized into seven sections, effectively breaking down the scale and structuring the floor plan. Clear cedar siding cleanly envelops the exterior, harmonizing with a straightforward metal roof. Towards the lakeside, the opaque exterior transitions into full-height glass, offering unobstructed lake views and covered outdoor spaces.
The outcome is an architectural experience that consistently immerses visitors in a connection with the site and its surroundings, delivering an experience that extends beyond the confines of the residence.
